Just been reading this and am not suprised there are still some narrow minded folks out there stuck in a timewarp with backward views on autos and especially the GTS's. I admit I was once one of these people myself and did slag off auto riders but then I gave in and had a go on one......f*ck me did my views change Don't get me wrong I still own a lambretta and think I always will but I have a GTS which I use for certain long hauls and it's a great bit of kit, does not give you that 2 stroke buzz but at least it's better than turning up at a rally in a car and now the old faithful P2 is no longer around it is becoming more of an acceptable mode of transport for some scooterists......not everyones cup of tea granted but I can remember when Piaggio launched the T5 and the slating that got to start with......basically it's how the scene is evolving no ones asking everyone to ride an auto are they........oh yes one thing I would like to point out yeh you can fix em at the side of the road......I took my lamby tool kit to Belgium....thank god I did as had to fix 3 GTS's with blowing exhausts Life is too short to bitch and moan at each other just because you ride something different.......in my eyes it's all still two wheels and whatever your riding as you are all out for the craic ;D I'll get my coat now ;D................ha ha Big Ian

BLIMEY...!!! Wot a lot 'o' different feelings towards my new favorite toy...!!! To be truthful, I never dreamed that everyone would agree with me, and half expected the cyber ribbing that ensued...!!! But after owning a brace of Vespas, including a couple of fuck#ng unreliable (but very pretty ;D) GS's, and a few Lambrettas, two of which were very tuned TS1's, I got piss#d off with having black fingernails and oily knees on me jeans, and just fancied riding a bit further afield, to rallies that i'd normally drive to. Take Hemsby for instance... A 900 mile round trip... Do the maths, and with the oil, on my TS1, your talking about £200 just to get there and back...!!! Thats without potential breakdowns... Never mind the 'Vibration white finger/toe/arse... (delete as applicable.) So I bought a GTS, and in my opinion, the best scooter i'll ever own...!!! It dosen't mean that I dont like traditional scooters anymore... Nor does it mean I've got some amount of sexual confusion, but I can't afford to have 2, or maybe 3 scooters tucked away in a lock up somewhere so I need something that i can use for all occasions... Sorry if that offends anyone, but next time i'll try and buy a scooter that YOU all like...!!! Lots of love... LEE....xxx

Just one more thing... I think you'll all be surprised to hear just how many of you, and I quote, 'Narrow minded, stuck in a timewarp' people have asked me for a go on it...!!!

Hey, Lee mate---that's cool! We all ride what we do to please ourselves and not to please others. I agree with what you and bigianscooter say--whole heartedly! I was replying to the 107 year old Yeovil person, hiding behind the veiled pseudonym, only. (Nice to speak to someone my own age! ) I have no problems with GTS's or any other vehicles and certainly have nothing else to say on the matter! ;D All the best mate, Stu. (P.S.---love to you too. X)

blimey i think this topic is a hot bed of opinion lee , i love my gts , i also loved my ts1 too and all the other scoots ive had right back to the 50 special i had at 16 ,true you do have to know your onions a bit to own an oldie ,so if it goes wrong you can fix it but if it goes bang just like if the belt goes on an auto then its probrably the aa youll be calling , unless your names martin johnson then usually a few twigs and leaves off the side of the road and many many years of riding to every rally and hes on his way again ,but for me i never liked the getting dirty bit much and never cared how they worked either just as long as they worked .its true what lee says about the amount of lads that take the piss on mass then quietly ask how they go and that theyve heard there great and even can they have a go sometime!.....im sure theyll be people out there that will say that they prefer the old ts1 to the new rb kit but its just an opinion thats all !! see you all at the meeting sunday!!
