I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended “Run from the Scum 2018” and made this weekender yet again an excellent time. I really appreciate the effort you all put in to drag yourself down to the end of the civilised world especially on an Italian shopping bike! A really big thanks to all the members of the Troglodytes S.C., Section 8 S.C. and Southern Templars S.C. who gave up their time before and during the weekend. Helping out on the door, stewarding the ride out, doing stage security, putting up signs and some good old-fashioned humping gear around. Hope I managed to get you all a drink at least? 🤔 Thanks to all the traders and the scooter jumble guys. Thanks to Darren Ducros and Sue Ducros Vinnicombe from DL Scooters for organising the Show ‘N’ Shine and trophies. Not forgetting those that took the time to enter in it as well! Thanks to Graeme Lake of Cornwall Scooter Centre for sponsoring the ride out high vis’ waistcoats. Also not forgetting those who went on it. A special thanks to all the DJs who worked hard to keep us entertained over the weekend. Simon Annear and Tracey Johnson for tag teaming Friday night. Saturday night’s djs Lee Grimshaw, Stax Gary Hayes and the effervescent Emma D J Cox. Without you guys we’d all have to listen to Gman and Jaimie Davies singing Cornish songs all night!🤐 A big thanks to Friday night’s fantastic live act ‘Hot Pearl Snatch’ who had everyone (who was in a fit state to) up and moving. Great show Rob Gilbert and the guys! An extra big thank you to the legend that is Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band who really blew us away! 74 years young and Geno is still da man! It was a pleasure hosting them. Thanks also to ‘Tencreek Holiday Park’, their staff and Koobie's security team for putting up with our drunken scooterist high jinx! Not forgetting Rich and Simon from Divine Sound for the PA work again. Finally an extra special thanks to yet again the hardest working people of the weekend Simon Annear (the lighting fairy), Anthony Roberts (the almost sensible one) and Tracey Johnson (Geno’s aid) who without their hard work and dedication before and during the weekend this event just wouldn’t have happened! Last but not least thanks to the sun for making an appearance over the weekend! All down to piggybacking off the royal wedding no doubt! 🙄 Do it again next year? What do you say people?!
Cheers
Alex
