Ok here’s a new thread to get you in the mood as we’ve got the 25th anniversary party coming up. List your top ten of nostalgic scooter sounds that remind you of rallies and do of days gone by. They don’t necessarily have to be your favorite tracks or from 20 odd years ago, just what brings back some memories. Since I’m going first I get to do the easy one but I’ll leave plenty of room for other musical styles I’ve not touched on. 1. Israelites-Desmond Dekker. (nuff said) 2. There’s a ghost in my house-R.Dean Taylor (Circus Tavern fav’) 3. Lost summer love-Lorraine Silver (my first rally Weston ’83) 4. Johnny too bad-The Slickers (Flis’s 18th b’day at Landsend hotel ) 5. She bangs the drum-The Stone Roses (‘90s rally buzzer ) 6. Find out why- Inspiral Carpets ( underplayed ‘90s rally buzzer) 7. Reward- The Teardrop Explodes ( VFM @ the Cramford Tavern Exmouth 80 something) 8. He’s coming home-Beverly Ann (again Weston ’83 Allnighter Club GB) 9. I’ll keep on holding on-The Action ( is it mod? Is it soul? Still stands the test of time) 10. Boxer beat-Joe Boxers (seemed to be playing in every pub at W-S-M 83) Come on G-man, Adam, Rowie, Johnny 'Cowell' Coombs and the rest of you music heads challenge on!

I'll take that challenge Mr A, how about these: 1. 54-46 Was My Number-Toots & The Maytals. Cramford Tavern 86, never seen so many Skinheads & not been beaten up. 2. She Sells sanctuary-The Cult. The Mandaly mid 80's, Appy Daze. 3. Magic Touch-Melba Moore. Late 80's, you couldn't get away from it! 4. Alternative Ulster-SLF. Ayr 2001, for the whole rally this was everywhere & the saturday night band were a SLF tribute band that played it 3 times. 5. Hip Teens-Frank Pop Ensemble. Vegas 2005, all the Brits stormed the dance floor when this came on, I'm sure 90% of the Yanks couldn't make head or tail of us! 6. Basket Case-Green Day, Morecombe 99 sticks in my mind. I've never been hit so hard, so much by so many people. 7. Sally Maclenene-The Pogues, Skewjacks, the legendary precursor to RFTS. 8. I'm Comin' Home Baby-Mel Torme. Always glad to here this at Club Peel. 9. Wreck a Party Rock-King Kurt. No particular event, just the ultimate party tune? 10. Rock Lobster-The B52's. Mid 80's, back bar of the Pirate, Tuesday nights. The Gauntlet remains for the rest of you to pick up.

Alex , this could take me some time! It's not the music but the attached memories i'm 'avin trouble with ;D Every song i think of just conjures up thoughts of me dancing like a complete tool for some strange reason Perhaps you could inspire me further by shouting "Away you go" a'la We Are The Champions? Instead of challenge on!? I'll try not to standing near a pool when you say it ;D
